USEFUL SITES FOR STUDENTS
Jupiter Grades
TNS also uses the web-based site Jupiter Grades for reporting grades and attendance to parents. Parents and students can view up to the minute grades at anytime by logging into the secure site with customized usernames and passwords.
Jupiter Grades will also send email alerts if students are missing assignments, score poorly on a test or are absent/tardy to school. This level of communication and accountability allow parents and students to stay on top of progress and catch problems and difficulties early. We are proud to be one of only a handful of private elementary schools in the area to offer this level of communication to parents.

Vocabulary Spelling City
VocabularySpellingCity is an award-winning site with ongoing introduction of new features, many based on input from existing users. Thier mission: efficient game-based study of literacy skills using any word. VocabularySpellingCity has been a pioneer in helping students retain the vocabulary that enables them to succeed in comprehending what they read. For most students, vocabulary words enter their long term memory through a four week cycle involving 12-14 encounters with the words involving multiple contexts and modalities.
STAR Assessment
Star Assessments are short tests that provide teachers with personalized learning data for each student. They are computer adaptive, which means they adjust in difficulty to each answer students provide. This helps teachers get the best data to help students in the shortest amount of testing time. STAR Assessments are typically given four times per year. Students may take a Star test for early literacy, math, or reading. Teachers analyze the data they receive from Star Assessments to learn what students already know and what they are ready to learn next, to monitor student growth, and to determine which students may need additional help.
Flocabulary
Students learn best when they have a voice in their own learning. Flocabulary facilitates learning that is not just academically rigorous, but also joyful and reflective of student interests. This is done by working with musicians and artists from all different backgrounds and creating videos that reflect and celebrate students’ diverse identities. Every student has a voice. They just need more opportunities to use them. And you’d be surprised what they can do with a microphone in their hands.
